Jamie Morath creates her art pieces like a jigsaw puzzle, where she cuts out the acrylic and water-colored images piece by piece and then assembles them to form a larger image. The cats and dogs are the final images to be cut and pasted on her collages, then she completes the process by adding the thick outlines. It sounds like it shouldn’t work, but it does! The results are unique and quirky, and very enjoyable to look at. Our favorites are the busy scenes at home where there are lots of cats doing their thing, which usually means mischief.

Jamie is based in Loveland, a city in the southwestern part of Ohio. She lives with her husband Sean, 4 sons, 5 dogs and 2 cats, so yes, that is one big family! She started her professional art career in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since. However, in the beginning she mostly focused on dogs. It was only in 2020 that she started producing a ton of cat art that was very well received. What might surprise most people new to her Instagram is that she is completely self-taught as an artist.

Her own website and her Etsy sells coasters, prints, unique one of a kind gifts and other ornaments. We can confirm that pricing and shipping are very reasonable, even for the unique one-of a kind items. For example, this hand-painted wooden bird house below is going for just under US$ 20 excluding shipping. Just don’t blame us if its sold by the time you read this 😅.

If you’re looking for one of a kind and personalized, you can always reach out to her via Facebook for some commission art. You won’t regret it! At the time of writing, single portraits are between US$ 30-60 and full paintings start at US$ 175. We’ve selected some of our favorites below to show you.

If nothing else, give her a shout out on her Facebook and Instagram. She donates a lot of her art to animal rescue charities to help them raise funds. Over the past 6 years, her art has raised more than US$ 56,000. What can we say, Jamie’s just an all-round great human being and we wish her more success for 2021 and beyond.
